Assistant referees that don't assist referees
Why is it that these people are afraid to make decisions and often wait for the referee to give a signal before flagging which way a throw in is.

The guy officiating in front of the main stand was so bad in the 2nd half it was embarrassing to watch. Several incidents right in front of him and never flagged.

The standard of refereeing in the PL in my opinion is at an all time low so surely if these guys are called assistant referee's, they should do just that and maybe the officiating will improve slightly.

The other Lino disallowed 2 Stoke goals so not all bad. They're too keen on trying to be seen as a team though. You'll notice the ref even gives throw ins, he points and the Lino flags.

Sian Massey was injured I believe so hasn't appeared for quite a while. She was easily the best lino.

Felt sorry for Carlton. Every time he breathed the ref and lino penalised him. Some were fouls but it got ridiculous
Haven't seen the freekick stats but my impression was that Stoke were awarded a dozen in shooting distance which they quickly realised and took advantage of a gullible ref.

And it doesn't. It chooses former players such as Lineker, Shearer and Savage.

I don't think the BBC gets to choose assistant referees.

" I haven't seen her on MotD for ages"

I think the BBC prefers former players.

What did Sian Massey do wrong?

I'm sure she's more proactive than some of these gutless blokes, but I haven't seen her on MotD for ages.

Offsides and throw-ins only cunts...

I thought Carlton's yellow was an atrocious decision.

He was stretching for the ball, no studs showing, not out of control.

Yes, he looked a bit clumsy, but he always does.

There is a remote Amazon tribe who saw that handball the linesman 20 feet away missed.

Thought the ref himself had a good game today.

Agree in general about assistants though.
